One very popular saying that I’m sure everyone has heard is, “New year, new me”. Most people tend to set goals for a year with the intent on completely changing their lifestyle, however, in my opinion, that approach isn’t very effective. Instead, I chose to center my vision board for 2024 around growing upon things that are already a part of my lifestyle. For instance, one thing I have on my vision board is hairstyling. I have always loved doing hairstyles; it's my form of therapy. In 2023 I finally decided to make a instagram page for all the hairstyles I’ve done and this year I really want to work on growing that page and improving my skills at the same time. Another thing that is a part of my vision board is friendship. From freshman year, my friend group has changed drastically as I developed and this year I really want to focus on strengthening the friendships I have because I will become a senior this year and I only have a limited amount of time left with these people. Another thing I put on my vision board is a picture of University of Nevada Reno. During sophomore year I went and visited the campus of UNR and I immediately fell in love with it. It is a college that is in my price range and its distance from Ripon is ideal. It’s not too close but it’s not too far either which is great. On my vision board I have a camera and an airplane because I really want to travel more this year. I usually am hesitant when it comes to traveling with my family because it can be very chaotic, but at the same time, that is when the best memories are made. One word that has been really powerful to me is the word dream. To me it means to not be afraid to believe in something that may seem impossible because at the end of the day if I work hard enough for something it can become a possibility. Finally, the last too things on my vision board are a car and a piece of paper. The car represents me wanting to get my drivers license and the piece of paper symbolizes my want to read more this year.
